I am in love with Barbados.
The island is stunning - the people are so friendly, the weather is fantastic, the sea is teaming with the most wonderful fish to dive and snorkel with, the sea turtles are very cute, the rum is amazing, the Bajan food is lovely, the drivers are crazy, the plantations are interesting, the east coastline is stunning, the west coach beaches are beautiful, the music gets into your blones and did I mention the rum already?!

Oh no - I finally found out I have to have shoulder surgery.
I can't believe that the doctors are going to slice and dice me like a lump of meat.
The thought is sending me into increasing tail spins of panic!

Tried to shoot some interesting stuff to stop thinking about it, and wow, was that a disappointment! Never try to drown out a small nagging doubt with a camera - it just doesn't work.

Still, at least I have a positive outlook on it - in 6 months time, I will be able to carry my very cool tripod and camera around on either shoulder!

Lets see what I can shoot with this beasty!

My camera lies unused and useless in its bag.
Work is sucking the life out of me, and all the while beautiful images keep escaping me.
Tis ever the feeling when working too hard, and not getting enough time to play.

Roll on Christmas and the new tripod of loveliness that is hopefully coming my way - and with new year in Scotland, who knows what I can shoot!

I have a new love - it's name is speed.

The effect of a pounding heart, and heightened senses you get when man and machine are in perfect harmony - of the rush of acceleration as the gears change up - the feeling of gravity on your spine as it gets pushed into the chair - the wonderful noise a fully torqued engine makes as it nudges the speedo needle higher and higher and higher.

Bliss.
